Following strong Christmas sales, Next expects annual profits of more than £1.1 billion (€1.3 billion). However, the retailer warns of slower momentum in 2026 due to “ongoing pressure on employment in the United Kingdom.”
Fourth forecast increase
In the nine weeks to 27 December, UK sales rose by 5.9%, well above the previously forecast 4.1%. The financial year runs until the end of January, but Next is still issuing a new forecast. The company is raising its profit forecast for the fourth time in six months, this time by another £15 million (€18 million).
