American fast food chains still find themselves underrepresented in Belgium: major players like Burger King, Domino’s and McDonald’s are planning hundreds of new locations in the coming years.
“Still room for growth”
Belgium currently has more than a thousand fast food restaurants from major chains, who have planned an avalanche of new locations. According to a survey by De Tijd, McDonald’s aims to more than double its network (from 122 to 150 locations) by the end of 2027, while Domino’s has very similar plans (from 127 to 250 branches). Burger King plans fifty new restaurants, while KFC and O’Tacos are also steadily expanding their presence, but they did not disclose specific figures.
