In a new campaign in the Netherlands, Lidl explicitly compares its prices with those of Albert Heijn and Jumbo. According to the retailer, a full shopping cart at Albert Heijn costs €115.03, while the same cart at Lidl costs €89.22.
Random sample in December
Lidl claims this represents a saving of “more than €25”, Distrifood writes. The comparison is based on a sample of products purchased in December last year via Albert Heijn’s webshop and in a Lidl store in Huizen. Weighted prices were used, the retailer clarifies.
