Nearly four months after a major cyberattack crippled online operations at Marks & Spencer, the British chain has reinstated its click & collect service for fashion orders. With that, most of the chain’s services appear to have been restored.
Returns accepted again
Fifteen weeks after Marks & Spencer was forced to shut down its click & collect service due to a cyber attack, the retailer has good news for its customers:“Next-day click & collect is back“, its website reports. Returns are also now accepted again at all stores in the United Kingdom.
The retailer’s online store was inaccessible for 46 days as a result of a cyber attack in April, a hack that also temporarily impacted the supply of its physical stores. Restoring online services took considerable time. Only since June 10 have customers been able to place online orders again. M&S estimates total damages at 300 million pounds (over 350 million euros), although a part of that could be recovered through insurance.
