Spar Netherlands has revamped its commercial structure to better position itself for the future. At the heart of the restructuring is the creation of two multidisciplinary teams.
Two teams
The Food Retail team will focus on Spar neighbourhood stores and will be led by Robèr Delver, who previously worked at Ahold Delhaize and Plus Retail. The Food Convenience team will concentrate on high-traffic locations, such as train stations. This department will be led by Martijn van der Hoeven.
The key positions for category management and data management will remain with Richard Versleijen and Thomas Heijnen. Together with Delver and Van der Hoeven, and marketing manager Chrischa Ligtenberg, they now form the commercial team at Spar Netherlands.
In addition, the marketing team will also be responsible for communications, ensuring that all marketing and communications messages convey the same (brand) story. By bringing together specialists in various fields in multidisciplinary teams, the chain also aims to increase its effectiveness and innovation.
