Paul Bulcke is stepping down prematurely as Chairman of Nestlé in the wake of the scandal surrounding ex-CEO Laurent Freixe. Pablo Isla (ex-Inditex) will take up his post on 1 October, while Dick Boer (ex-Ahold Delhaize) will become Vice-Chairman.

The change at the helm follows a turbulent few weeks: in early September, Freixe was forced to resign following an affair with a subordinate. This incident also put pressure on Bulcke, who – according to critics – reacted too slowly to the affair. The Belgian has now decided to bring forward his retirement, which was planned for April 2026.
