Thomas Griesel, who founded HelloFresh together with Dominik Richter fourteen years ago, is leaving the meal box delivery company on 30 April 2026 at the very latest. That is the date when his current mandate expires, which Griesel does not want to renew.
Not replaced
Griesel, currently also CEO International at HelloFresh, announced his decision this weekend. His resignation is not immediate: he has currently announced that he will not renew his mandate. However, it is possible that he will step down before the end of his current term, at the end of April next year. The exact end date will possibly be co-determined by the “interests outside of HelloFresh”, which he now plans to explore.
For now, Griesel will not be replaced on the management board, HelloFresh reports. That board currently consists of co-CEOs Griesel and Richter, as well as CCO Edward Boyes and CFO Christian Gärtner. The latter, however, will pass the baton to Fabien Simon next week.
Under Griesel’s (co-)leadership, HelloFresh grew from a small company that made meal boxes in Richter’s own kitchen into a global group that operates in eighteen countries: fourteen in Europe, plus also Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United States.
