In a slightly declining Belgian wine market, Delhaize says it has been regaining market share every quarter since 2024. This upward trend also continues in 2025, the chain claims.
Growth for non-alcoholic
Red wine continues to lose ground, while white and rosé wines continue to grow. White wines see strong progress in Chile, Italy and the Loire region. In red, the main winners are Italy and the Loire and Bordeaux regions. For rosé, the biggest growers are Italy and the Provence and the Loire regions.
Alcohol-free wines continue to grow strongly (by 18%), thanks to ever-improving quality, while and smaller formats are also gaining in popularity (+ 9 % in the first half of the year). These figures come from Delhaize’s marketing efforts on the occasion of the start of the chain’s Wine Festival.
