French supermarket group Auchan is redistributing its organisational structure into “living zones” instead of traditional geographical demarcations. This should create more autonomous and profitable areas.
Logical zones
Auchan France is introducing 52 so-called “zones de vie”, which will replace the traditional division into five regions. A total of 538 stores (hypermarkets, supermarkets and pick-up points) now fall under four major regions, each with several living zones.
