Komrads has closed its physical store and its web shop: “Unfortunately, the economic climate has made it impossible for us to continue,” the ecological sneaker brand reports on its website.
“Bold dream”
The end had been coming for some time: Komrads held a clearance sale with big discounts in recent months. “It breaks our hearts to share that Komrads has closed,” founders Mark Vandevelde and Greet Goegebuer now report on the brand’s website and social media. “The journey we began nearly a decade ago has come to an end,” they added.
“We started with a bold dream: to create the world’s most sustainable sneaker—kind to the planet and genuinely stylish. With your encouragement, we explored innovative materials (including apple-based alternatives) and grew quickly, with online sales and activity in more than ten countries. Unfortunately, the economic climate has made it impossible for us to continue.”
The company apologizes to customers for the inconvenience of the shutdown. The store and web shop are currently closed, so purchases and returns are not possible. Orders cannot be delivered. Komrads also cannot accept returns or process refunds.
