Giorgio Armani has appointed three new directors, with former Gucci CEO Marco Bizzarri as the most striking name. The appointments come after the designer’s death in September and are intended to lead the company into a new phase – be it a takeover or stock market listing.
Family retains control
The new board of directors has eight members: three representing the family of founder Giorgio Armani (a niece, a nephew and the founder’s partner), two existing board members (Federico Marchetti, formerly of Yoox, and brand-new CEO Giuseppe Marsocci), and three newcomers nominated by the Armani Foundation: Marco Bizzarri, John Hooks and Angelo Moratti.
