Ikea Belgium recorded a slight decline in sales for the second year in a row. In the period from September 2024 to last August, sales amounted to 1.18 billion euros, 1.24% less than a year earlier. Yet, sales volume increased and, according to employees, so did the workload.
More customers, more online
A slight decline of 0.83% had already been recorded a year ago. “We had one less opening day this year than last year,” André Schmidtgall, CEO of Ikea Belgium, hastens to explain the decline to La Libre Eco. “If we had had the same number of opening days, the figure would have remained stable. I’m not worried. In the current retail context, we are satisfied with these figures.”
