First Belgian JYSK stores open doors in April

Danish store chain JYSK will arrive in Belgium in April: the first two stores will open on 5 April in Genk and Schoten (near Antwerp).

Rapid expansion

It was already public knowledge JYSK would come to Belgium, but the locations (Genk and Schoten) were only just revealed by retail manager Dennis Landa.

This marks another step in the Danish brand’s European expansion. Over the course of its 2015/2016 fiscal year, it opened more than 100 stores and it now has more than 2,400 stores across 45 countries, including the Netherlands (since 2006). The plan is to continue its annual rate of 100 new stores for the time being.

JYSK, founded in 1979 by current CEO Lars Larsen, sells everything a customer could need in his house. It opened its first foreign store in 1984 in Germany and currently boasts a 3 billion euro turnover and employs 21,000 people.
