Earlier today, Tedi has opened its 2,000th German store in Essen. The non-food discounter aims to open 3,000 stores in its home market, and as many as 10,000 across Europe.

Tedi continues its expansion on the German market: the non-food discounter opened its 2,000th store in Essen’s Rathaus Galerie, an indoor shopping centre where big names such as Rewe, Decathlon, Hema and dm.
On a retail area of 650 sqm, Germany’s answer to Action sells around 16,000 items, from crafts and party supplies to household items, office supplies and seasonal decoration and trend items. A particular focus is on prices: the discounter permanently offers 5,000 items for one euro or less.
“The opening of our 2000th shop in Germany is a testament to the trust our customers place in us and the efficiency of our team”, Sales Director Dietrich Heumann said. The chain’s goal is to have 3,000 stores in Germany in the medium term and 10,000 stores across Europe in the long term, he added.
