The German competition authority is launching an investigation into Temu following complaints from sellers. Traders are reportedly being subjected to very strict price caps, leading the competition watchdog to question whether this is undermining free competition.
“Unacceptable” price caps?
Does the platform determine (or limit) prices in a way that could influence competition and consumer prices? With this question in mind, the Bundeskartellamt is investigating Temu’s terms and conditions for indications that sellers are being given “unacceptable” rules regarding their pricing policy.
