Custom officers have intercepted 2,435 containers of counterfeit products in the Greek port of Piraeus. With an estimated value of a quarter of a billion euros, it is the largest ever seizure of counterfeit goods in the European Union.
Customs officers prosecuted
The cargo consisted mainly of electric bicycles, textiles and shoes, the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) reported. The EPPO is prosecuting six people: all customs agents who helped with the fraud.
