Dutch foodservice wholesaler Sligro closed the first half of its financial year with a profit, thanks in part to better results in Belgium. Sales were still down in that country, but the company says it sees this as a “turning point”.
Thanks to spring weather
Sligro saw H1 sales (excluding tobacco) increase by 12 million euros to 1.275 billion euros, as the excellent spring weather boosted sales in the second quarter. EBITDA rose 3 million euros to 58 million, with both the Netherlands and Belgium improving their results. Net profit was 2 million euros, compared to a loss of 1 million for the first half of 2024.
