Eight European countries, led by France, are calling on the European Commission and member states to take stronger action against fast fashion platforms from third countries, such as Shein, Temu, and Alibaba.
Measures and sanctions demanded
“We call on the Commission to mobilise strongly and relentlessly on the issue of unfair competition from third-country e-commerce platformss,” the signatories state. The countries involved are Austria, Belgium, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Hungary, and Poland. They warn of systemic risks and want to step up collective mobilization. A letter on this subject was sent to Brussels on Monday.
