Kruidvat Belgium will now supply diapers, diaper wipes, and baby food from its own brand to Ghent University Hospital. “A wonderful recognition of our product range,” says director Bert Verhoef.
“Confirmation of quality”
In November, Ghent University Hospital (UZ Gent) and drugstore chain Kruidvat, the Benelux subsidiary of AS Watson Group, started a four-year collaboration for three product groups: diapers, diaper wipes, and baby food (fruit and vegetable jars). The products came out on top in a European tendering procedure in which several suppliers were assessed on product quality, practical usability, delivery reliability, and total cost.
The decision is remarkable: hospitals usually opt for diapers from a premium brand such as Pampers. “The fact that a renowned hospital such as UZ Gent has chosen Kruidvat is a great recognition of our product range,” says Bert Verhoef, director of Kruidvat Belgium. “The choice confirms the quality of our diapers, which are much more affordable than A-brands. New moms and dads want the best for their baby; you don’t have to choose the most expensive option to do that. We deliver according to the agreed specifications and delivery schedules and support the teams in the implementation.”
