Wijnegem Shopping lets customers buy their own merchandise with likes

Wijnegem Shopping Center (near Antwerp, Belgium) is opening a ‘Like Shop’ with its own merchandise this weekend (the first weekend of the sales). Visitors do not pay with money, but with online thumbs up.

Digital fan base growing

The shopping centre receives around eight million visitors annually, but also has 175,000 followers on Facebook, 39,000 on Instagram, and 21,000 on TikTok, Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad writes. The marketing team wants to activate those online fans via the Like Shop.
