Management and unions at Ikea Belgium have reached an agreement after several days of industrial action. The agreement includes measures relating to work organisation and staff reinforcement. The store in Hognoul will reopen as normal on Thursday.
Strengthening teams
On Wednesday evening, union representative Manuel Gonzalez (CNE Commerce) and a spokesperson for Ikea announced that the Belgian management and the unions had reached an agreement. Management is talking about solutions concerning “the planning and organisation of work to reduce the workload, the simplification of internal procedures, enhanced monitoring of training, and regular team meetings”, Belgian newspaper La Libre reports.
