Three Dutch regional supermarket chains continue to have problems getting their special offers right onto their receipts. DekaMarkt, Hoogvliet and Nettorama now promise that customers who discover an error will receive the item in question free of charge.
Persistent errors
It was the Consumentenbond (Consumers’ Association) that blew the whistle: in August, the organisation visited 36 supermarkets (six each from DekaMarkt, Dirk, Hoogvliet, Nettorama, Poiesz and Vomar) and checked 25 special offers. Three chains (Dirk, Poiesz and Vomar) had managed to resolve almost all of the problems in the meantime.
