Gianfranco D’Attis, the CEO of Prada, will step down from his position at the end of this month. The departure is said to be in “mutual agreement”. Andrea Guerra, general director of the Prada Group, will temporarily take over the role of brand CEO.
Strategic friction
D’Attis’s departure is attributed to strategic differences, according to trade magazine Women’s Wear Daily (WWD). Prada accounted for 68% of the Prada Group’s revenue in the first quarter but saw a slight decline in sales. In contrast, younger sister brand Miu Miu experienced strong growth of 60%.
