In the Netherlands, bicycle courier service Thuisbezorgd.nl —a subsidiary of Takeaway.com —will deliver DIY products from Gamma to homes within an hour. The project will start in Amsterdam.

Thuisbezorgd and Gamma are launching the delivery project at the DIY chain’s branch in Amsterdam Slotervaart. Customers can have a wide range of products delivered to their homes: plasterboard screws, wall paint, or an inner tube for their bicycle, according to the delivery company on LinkedIn. Thanks to a live tracker, customers know exactly when their order will arrive.
In recent years, Just Eat Takeaway has already added categories in various countries, including supermarket, liquor store, drugstore, flower, and electronics orders in addition to restaurant meals. In Belgium and the United Kingdom, bicycle couriers have also been delivering health and personal care products from hundreds of pharmacies since this spring. DIY items are now being added to the list. This is a first for the Netherlands.
