AI-chatbot shows the way in Belgian Brico stores

Belgian DIY chain Brico is taking a new step in digital shopping support, with the launch of an AI chatbot in its app that helps customers find a product in their store.

User-friendly and efficient

Customers of Maxeda‘s Belgian subsidiary Brico were already able to look up the location of products in the store via the product page on the website and in the app, but now the retailer is going one step further with the launch of an AI-powered product locator.

This is designed to answer the most frequently asked question in stores: “Where can I find product X?”. The chatbot will immediately show where a product is located in a specific store. It is also possible to ask broader questions to the product locator, such as “What do I need to paint a wall?”. In this case, the bot will create an overview of the necessary products and their location in the store. This not only makes the store visit faster, but also more user-friendly and efficient.

“At Brico, we strive to make DIY as simple as possible in every step of the customer experience”, Marketing Director Britta Rym says. “With the product locator, our customers save time and find what they need faster. At the same time, our staff have more time to give personal advice, creating a more efficient and pleasant shopping experience for everyone.” The product locator is currently available in eight Brico stores and will be systematically rolled out to more stores.
