In early July, Tesco announced that it was considering selling its operations in Central Europe to focus on its core business in the United Kingdom and Ireland. This includes a total of 561 supermarkets in the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia, which together generate revenue of 4.49 billion pounds (5.26 billion euros). In the 2025–26 fiscal year, the division contributed approximately 4% to the British retailer’s group profit.
