Kingfisher, the parent company of the DIY chains B&Q, Screwfix, Castorama, and Brico Dépôt, has had a strong first half of the year but continues to face challenges in the French market.
“Stronger and more resilient”
In the first half of the 2026–2027 fiscal year, Kingfisher reported revenue of 6.864 billion pounds (8 billion euros), an increase of 0.8%, but a slight decline of 0.2% at constant exchange rates. Like-for-like revenue growth was 0.1%. More significant is the sharp 9.9% increase in profit to 404 million pounds (approximately 470 million euros), which the retailer attributes to an improvement in the gross profit margin, strict cost control, and a one-time corporate tax refund of 14 million pounds (approximately 16 million euros).
