Albert Heijn Belgium starts online sales and opens its first three pick-up points

Three pick-up points at first

The three pick-up points mean Albert Heijn Belgium’s new web site – opened last month – can now really start handling online orders. “We want a broad range, a personal service and low prices, even on the internet. AH.be is like one of our new stores, because we feel the experience should be similar everywhere”, general manager Luc De Baets said.

Still, in the three different kinds of pick-up point the experience will quite different: customers can remain in their car in the Antwerp stand-alone pick-up point, with only electronic payments as a possibility. Lokeren and Ghent operate rather similarly, but are located at Albert Heijn stores. The third type requires the customer to get out of his or her car to pick up the order inside an existing store, but such a point has not yet been opened in Belgium.
