Profit increase for Refresco

Food10 March, 2016

Dutch juice and soda manufacturer Refresco Gerber has managed to boost its 2015 profit 8 %, despite a 1 % turnover drop compared to the year before.

Volume growth as well

Refresco’s turnover decreased to 2.02 billion euro in 2015, but the company’s net profit grew 8 % to 41.8 million euro. Particularly its fourth quarter performance led to more profit: although turnover dropped from 498 million euro to 470.6 million euro, net profit did grow from 4.8 to 24.6 million euro in that quarter. The company’s volume sales also grew 2.1 % with 6.1 billion liters of sodas and juices sold.

“Looking back on 2015 I am pleased to confirm that we have delivered in line with our outlook to grow volumes faster than the market. We additionally report a slightly better than foreseen gross profit margin per liter and end the year with a strong cash position. Revenue declined slightly due to the passing on of more favourable input prices to our customers, a dynamic that we have highlighted in previous quarters”, CEO Hans Roelofs said.

The company expects a similar volume increase for 2016, although its gross profit margin will slightly drop.
