British SuperGroup, which owns fashion brand SuperDry, has rewarded its investors with an additional dividend after it presented strong results for its full fiscal year.

New collections sold well

SuperGroup’s total turnover grew 21.3 % to 590.1 million pounds (710 million euro): particularly its women’s collections and the collaboration with British actor Idris Elba were hits with the public. The increased turnover also helped generate more pre-tax profit, as that grew 16 % to 73.5 million pounds (88.2 million euro).

Like-for-like turnover grew 11.3 % as an an exceptionally strong fourth quarter saw a 15.4 like-for-like turnover increase. The company did suffer a 3.5 million euro loss in the United States, but SuperGroup says it is well on its way to success in that particular market.

SuperGroup added nearly 13,000 sqm of store space in the past fiscal year, 90 % of which in Europe. Its online turnover also grew a lot and now represents 23 % of the group’s total retail turnover. “Our expanded product range reaches more customers and we are happy to see our women’s collections, SuperDry Sport and the exclusive Idris Elba collection generate such positive response”, CEO Euan Sutherland said.
