Inditex budget brand Lefties makes German debut in Düsseldorf

Lefties, a discount brand belonging to Spanish fashion group Inditex, is maintaining a steady pace for its European expansion plans. After securing several prime locations in the United Kingdom, it is now Germany’s turn.

Challenger for Primark and Shein

The fashion chain will soon open its first store in Germany, more specifically in Düsseldorf, various German media outlets report. However, the exact location is not yet known. Lefties is the only brand in the Inditex group that is not yet present in Germany. The chain is currently engaged in a large-scale European expansion project: in September, Inditex announced that the retailer will launch in four prime locations in the United Kingdom next year. The Netherlands and France are also on the agenda.

Lefties, which started out as an outlet store for Zara collections, is intended to fill a gap in the fashion market within the Inditex group as its sister chain Zara moves towards a slightly higher positioning. With prices starting at ten euros for a top, the brand aims to challenge fashion discounters such as Primark and Shein. The chain, which has doubled in size over the past five years, already has more than 210 stores.
