Since (now former) CEO Karsten Wildberger was asked to become Germany’s Digital Minister, some positions in the board at the electrical retailer have been shifting. Chief Financial Officer Kai-Ulrich Deissner became interim CEO of the group and Remko Rijnders was appointed interim CFO.
Kocabas now takes over the Benelux role from Rijnders, but also his role as COO of the MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group. In that role, he leads the cluster that groups Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and Turkey, as well as the B2B segment. On top of those roles, he will also stay on in his current role as Managing Director of MediaMarkt Spain. Kocabas has worked at MediaMarktSaturn since 2016.
Current Benelux sales director Carsten Geilert will leave for Germany, where he will become MediaMarktSaturn COO on 1 June. It is not yet decided how his position in Benelux will be filled, but the company will communicate about this as soon as possible.
