This isn’t the first time Aldi in Belgium has offered an exclusive work of art at a low price: on Saturday, shoppers can get their hands on a reproduction of Princess Delphine of Saxe-Coburg.
One per customer
Tomorrow, Wednesday, Aldi and Delphine of Saxe-Coburg will unveil a new mural on Kortedagsteeg in Ghent. The retailer is keeping the exact appearance of the work, titled “Warme William,” a secret for now: the image in the flyer has been deliberately blurred. On Saturday, reproductions of the artwork will be available in Belgian Aldi stores for the modest price of 24.99 euros. Each customer may take home a maximum of one. The promotion aims to raise awareness for a charity supporting young people.
This isn’t the first time Aldi Belgium has made a splash with art. On December 7, 2024, the discounter sold a piece by the renowned Belgian artist Koen Vanmechelen, also for 24.99 euros. In 2005, the chain made headlines with a series of twelve artworks by six Belgian artists, then priced at 12.99 euros.
