Henkel has had a strong first half-year: despite weak consumer confidence, the German multinational is seeing growth in the hair care and laundry detergent categories and is stepping up its acquisition activities.
Growth in both divisions
Amid challenging market conditions, Henkel reported organic sales growth of 3.2% to 10.3 billion euros in the first half of its fiscal year. This strong growth was supported by positive price and volume dynamics across all business units, the company said. Operating profit (EBIT) rose by 0.3% to 1.6 billion euros, while the EBIT margin increased by 10 basis points to 15.7%. Both business units—the Adhesive Technologies division and the Consumer Goods division—contributed to this result.
