Just Eat Takeaway is reorganizing its customer and administrative services. At the headquarters of Thuisbezorgd.nl in Enschede, in the Netherlands, 175 full-time jobs are cut. Teams in Germany and Belgium will also be affected.
Less manual work
In an internal memo, CEO and founder Jitse Groen wrote that the decision has been “extremely difficult”, but that it is necessary to ensure the company’s “sustainable growth.” Tasks such as communicating menu changes will now be handled by the restaurants themselves or by AI systems, instead of being processed manually by employees.
