Czech online supermarket Rohlik is considering an IPO, but first wants to boost profitability with new revenue streams. The food retailer is focusing on retail media and and logistics services for other retailers.
Much higher margins
Like many other e-commerce companies, from Amazon to Zalando, Rohlik realizes that much profit can be made from advertising and services. The Czech company is therefore launching Veloq, a platform that handles logistics and e-commerce for other retailers. Those activities boast a profit margin of 50 to 60 %, well above the 20 to 30 % the company’s core online delivery business generates, CEO Tomáš Čupr told Reuters.
