Ace & Tate also reports data breach at logistics company

Following earlier reports by Bijenkorf and Bol of a cyber incident involving a logistics partner, eyewear chain Ace & Tate has now also warned customers about a data breach. Financial information, usernames, and passwords were not compromised.

Striking similarity

In an email to customers, Ace & Tate refers to a security incident at a logistics partner. The eyewear chain does not disclose the name of that company, but the similarities to previous announcements from Bijenkorf and Bol (as well as ING and Ajax, among others) are striking: it is therefore possible that CEVA Logistics is also involved in this case. The retailer has filed a report with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

Financial data, usernames, and passwords were not compromised in the incident; however, names, shipping and billing addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, order numbers, track-and-trace information, and order details may have been affected. Customers are advised to be extra vigilant against phishing messages. Yesterday, RTL Nieuws reported that customer data from Bol and Bijenkorf is already being offered for sale on the dark web.
