Vandemoortele allowed to acquire Délifrance, on one more condition

The British competition authority has given the green light for the Belgian Vandemoortele Group to acquire the bakery company Délifrance. However, Vandemoortele must divest its sales division in Staines-upon-Thames to a suitable buyer.

Sales to become independent

The deal, announced in March of last year, drew the attention of competition authorities in Europe and the United Kingdom. To address the concerns of European authorities, Vandemoortele had already pledged to sell two of Délifrance’s production sites in France. Previously, Vandemoortele had also agreed to sell its factory in Worcester, including assets, contracts, and the 73 employees.
