Barry Callebaut has promoted Stefanie De Roover to Managing Director of Benelux. De Roover previously headed up marketing in the Benelux region and will now take the helm of what CEO Hein Schumacher explicitly refers to as a focus market.

Cradle of growth opportunities

De Roover has been at the helm of the Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg operations since 1 September. She reports to Alvaro Alonso, Barry Callebaut’s president for Western Europe. The appointment comes from within the company: De Roover has served as Sales & Marketing Director for the Benelux region for the past two years and, according to the company, played a key role in building customer relationships and strengthening the gourmet segment.

In total, she has more than fifteen years of commercial experience in the food industry. Before joining Barry Callebaut, she held management positions at ingredients manufacturer Beneo, among other roles. “She knows our customers, our people, and the market inside and out,” says Alonso. He expects De Roover to help roll out the Focus for Growth program and “realize new growth opportunities in the Benelux, the cradle of our Belgian Callebaut brand.”

In fiscal year 2024/2025, Barry Callebaut generated revenue of approximately 14.8 billion Swiss francs, equivalent to about 15.9 billion euros. The group has more than sixty production facilities and over 13,000 employees worldwide.
