Dairy group Bel announced the appointment of Sven Lamote as Managing Director of its cluster “Northern Europe” (Benelux, the United Kingdom and the Nordic countries). The company aims to raise its profile as a major player in balanced and sustainable snacks.
Food transition
Lamote has been with Bel since 2020 and was previously CEO of Alpro. His mission will be to further build Bel’s range of balanced snacks, expanding its product portfolio to include fruit, vegetable and cheese snacks.
Jean-David Thumelaire succeeds Mohamed Zariouhi as Managing Director Benelux, as his predecessor is leaving the company after four years. Thumelaire has more than fourteen years of experience at AB InBev and will focus on renewing leading brands such as Maredsous, expanding the plant-based offer, and supporting the transition to more sustainable food
Bel owns well-known dairy brands such as Babybel, Boursin, Kiri, La Vache Qui Rit and Maredsous, but it also aims to play a leading role in the transition to a more sustainable food system. The company is expanding its traditional dairy offering with plant-based alternatives, such as most recently with the launch of a plant-based Boursin.
