Zalando puts an end to its styling service Zalon

iconFashion7 July, 2022

Zalando is discontinuing its online styling advice service Zalon, but not completely: the fashion platform wants to integrate the personal shopping service into the Zalando Plus programme.

For Zalando Plus members

Zalon, the online style advice service from Zalando, is closing down. The fashion platform says so on its website. However, personal style advice is not going to disappear from the service for good.

“We are working on integrating the Zalon service into our Zalando Plus programme to offer a new, personalised shopping benefit. This is part of our ambition to strengthen customer relationships and offer the best possible experience to our Plus members”, says spokesperson Gilbert Kreijger to RetailDetail.

No more new customers

Zalando’s plan is to stop shipping Zalon in Belgium on August 1st. Existing customers can place a last order on 31 July. On 1 October the service stops in the Netherlands: a last order is possible on 30 September. Zalon has not been accepting new customers since 6 July.

Zalando launched the online style advice service Zalon in 2014, to help customers get started in the ever-growing range of brands and garments on its website. Users could fill in a style profile and were then matched with a stylist, who searched for matching items. The chosen outfits were delivered to the home in a Zalon box.
