Very Group, owner of Very and Littlewoods, has appointed Dirk Van den Berghe to the role of non-executive president. He brings tons of experience in retailing from his former employees like Delhaize, JD and Walmart.
Experience galore
Van den Berghe left Walmart in April 2021, choosing to return to Europe. He has had several managing positions at the American retail giant since 2014: first as regional CEO for Canada, then heading Walmart China and finally as CEO for the Asian market.
Before Walmart, Van den Berghe was active at FMCG giant Unilever and Belgian supermarket chain Delhaize, where he led the Belgian, French and Luxembourgian branches between 2012 and 2014.
Vanden Berghe has tons of experience in private, familial and public management boards, currently as non-execituve manager at the Belgian Colruyt Group and formerly also at JD.com and Flipkart Group.
