Managing Director Benelux C&A quits

Fashion16 December, 2024

Stefanie Schneider is leaving fashion chain C&A after ten years. A successor as Managing Director for the Benelux has not yet been appointed.

Modernising stores

On her LinkedIn page, Schneider announces she will start the new year as CEO at Cebeo, a Belgian distributor of electrical equipment and services. Her departure comes just a few months after that of the chain’s CEO Europe, Giny Boer. Edward Brenninkmeijer, a member of the family that owns C&A, is a temporary replacement while the search for a definitive successor continues.

C&A has 202 shops in the Benelux region: 98 each in Belgium and the Netherlands and the remaining six in Luxembourg. The company faces the challenge of further strengthening its position in a competitive market at both local and European level. Schneider has recently taken many steps to modernise shops, as demonstrated at its recently revamped branches in Ostend and Woluwe.

Prada targets wealthiest customers while shrinking its store network

The Prada Group is focusing more on "big spenders"—as the wealthy continue to get richer—as well as on creative innovation at Versace and Miu Miu. Indeed, while revenue is posting double-digit growth, profits are under pressure.
