Turnover rose to 1.42 billion dollars (1.3 billion euros), but at the same time Guess saw last year’s 2.4 million dollar profit turn into a net loss of 26.7 million dollars (24 million euros), compared to a profit of $2.4 million last year. CEO Carlos Alberini said he was “pleased” with his company’s sales, which he attributed to “momentum in Europe and retail in America”.
