Flatiron District
EXKi’s first American restaurant will be in the Flatiron District in Manhattan. “It is the perfect place for an EXKi restaurant, as the district is known for its wide array of start-ups”, states EXKi. The Flatiron District is also known for its young and trendy community ‘who respect nature, its own health and a fast service’.
Flatiron is close to Union Square, known for its large biological market, something the chain can relate to. EXKi NY will also sell fresh and natural dishes, with seasonal local products and recipes adapted to the local flavours.
By the end of 2014 or maybe the beginning of 2015, EXKi hopes to have several New York locations. It predicts that there should be room for some 10 EXKi’s within the New York area. A European expansion is also on the cards, with new restaurants in The Hague and Paris. The company was founded in 2001 and currently has 70 restaurants in 5 countries: Belgium, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Italy.
