The bankrupt French fashion brand Jennyfer is not disappearing altogether: industry peer Beaumanoir is taking over the brand rights and 26 shops. Seven shops will go to Celio.
600 jobs will be lost
At the end of April, Jennyfer decided to file for compulsory liquidation after a repositioning under new management failed to deliver the hoped-for results. Now it turns out the brand is not disappearing entirely: Beaumanoir, the group behind brands such as Cache Cache, La Halle and Sarenza, has taken over the brand rights, as well as some 350 employees and 26 strategically located shops. So reports French media.
The retailer aims to reach a younger audience with this acquisition. Jennyfer will also appear on fashion marketplace Sarenza. Celio is taking over seven shops and 47 employees. More than 600 people will lose their jobs. Jennyfer still accounted for 250 million euros in sales last year, with 220 shops in France and 80 abroad.
