Adidas confirms its preliminary quarterly figures: Q3 was a record quarter. Growth came mainly from running and soccer shoes, both of which saw “strong double-digit” increases.

Building on the classics

In the third quarter, sales rose by 12% to €6.6 billion, the highest quarterly sales ever for the sports brand. The running category in particular excelled with growth of more than 30%. However, the strong euro reduced quarterly sales by more than €300 million. Operating profit climbed 23% to €736 million, while net profit increased 4.1% to €461 million.

Lower Calvin Klein sales drag down PVH

PVH saw its revenue decline by 3% in the second quarter to $2.1 billion (approximately 1.78 billion euros). Calvin Klein was the main factor dragging down the figure, while Tommy Hilfiger remained stable. The fashion group now confirms its expectation of virtually flat annual revenue.
