Thanks in part to strong demand for football gear and running shoes, Adidas reported robust revenue and profit growth in the first quarter, despite a highly volatile market with intense promotional pressure.
Avoiding price cuts
Adidas’ revenue rose 14% on a constant-currency basis to 6.6 billion euros in the past quarter. A strong performance, considering declining sales in several Middle Eastern countries due to the war in Iran. Operating profit rose 16% to 705 million euros.
