Burberry has announced plans to cut 1,700 jobs at its headquarters and trench coat factory. Shop closures are not planned, as the luxury brand claims it is seeing sales pick up.
Night shift dropped
Over the next two years, Burberry is cutting almost one-fifth of its workforce of 9,300 people worldwide. The move should bring the fashion brand sixty million pounds (seventy million euros) in additional cost savings, on top of the forty million pounds (fifty million euros) in cost-cutting it already announced last November.
