Gamma’s announced withdrawal from French-speaking Belgium is quickly having tangible consequences. Six Walloon stores are at risk of closing, putting 74 jobs on the line. Only the franchise store in Tournai is spared.

Gamma currently has 77 stores in Belgium, 70 of which are in Flanders and seven in Wallonia. The stores in Bastogne, Herstal, Jumet, La Louvière, Quaregnon, and Verviers—operated by franchise partner Bourrelier Group—are all at risk of closing. The store in Tournai, which is operated by a different franchisee, will remain open.
